Lando Norris raced to a dominant victory in Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix but he made sure his McLaren bosses stayed on the edge of their seats until the chequered flag after two close encounters with the wall.

SINGAPORE -- Lando Norris survived a couple of brushes with barriers as he won the Singapore Grand Prix with ease and cut into Max Verstappen's Formula 1 standings lead Sunday. Norris started on pole position ahead of Verstappen and steadily built a large lead for his third career win. All have come this year.

Payback comes in many forms, sometimes helpful, sometimes as retribution. For Lando Norris it came in the most benign form as McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri played his own early role in helping him to his third victory of the year.
