Scotland lock Scott Cummings is handed a one-week suspension for his red card during Sunday's defeat by South Africa.

Scotland lock Scott Cummings has been suspended for one game for his illegal crocodile roll on South Africa counterpart Franco Mostert in Edinburgh at the weekend.

Cummings accepted the red card was justified and the disciplinary committee found it to be reckless but at the lower range of the scale. An initial two-week ban was considered appropriate but that was cut in half based on the player’s “exemplary disciplinary record, good conduct and having shown remorse”.

Scott Cummings has been suspended after he was sent off in Scotland’s 32-15 defeat to the Springboks at the weekend. The second-row was initially sin-binned by referee Christophe Ridley after he and flanker Rory Darge attempted to clean out Franco Mostert.
